Excuse my ignorance but Zebs attacked someone with a jug, was it while he was with us? Also how did the incident come about? I heard that he got 'done' for something but i thought it was just the usual drunken louts in brawl scenario.

Oh, and USA, i think there was a reason why Luke didn't scarper. :~D
He was sacked by Plymouth, for wrapping the jug around Captain Wotton's head on a pre season football tour. No criminal charges were brought by the Austrian authorities, but he was sacked on his return to the UK. In his defence there may have been some provocation, but certainly no justification for his actions.

The "other" incident you are probably thinking of was when he flattened a squaddie down by Torquay harbour side, when he leapt to the defence of his mate Branno ... like he needed any help? Zebroski got off with community service if memory serves me right ... again a case of some provocation, but no justification.

What led to him being sacked by Cheltenham is less clear, other than the fact he appears not to have turned up for work on four occasions. ... without a proper sick note!

McCormick didn't run. He was a complete a-hole but I would not put in the same sentence as Hughes. I wouldn't say coward for Luke.

The Reverend Green, a candlestick in the Study?

... Or maybe, Chris Zebroski, a water pitcher, on a tour of Austria! 8-]

Or, of course, those that got away with smashing things over a team-mates head....

This is a difficult one for me to be getting my head round given my views on players that have acted wrecklessly and completely decimated lives so if we ended up signing Robertson i would have a decision to make. Having read the linked article it doesn't reveal too much info like if he was speeding or anything so i'll have to take it that he wasn't. It only says that the accident was caused by him fiddling with his ipod trying to change tracks.

At the end of the day, he killed a father of five due to irresponsibility and he was sentenced to 32 months inside which probably ended up being 2 years. It should have been 5 years minimum with no early release IMO but Robertson isn't responsible for the failings of our weak legal system and so he has served the time allocated to him and that is all he could have done.

I think i could be prepared to give someone like Robertson the benefit of the doubt because, like jonnyfive says, i'm sure we've all taken our eyes of the road each time we go out into the car unintentionally whether it be grabbing something from the passenger seat, glove compartment, in the recesses in the door, opening some sweets, and for me the worst culprit which staggeringly is legal. Staring at the satnav. If you're looking at a satnav then you aren't looking at the road. So at least he wasn't like theses other pricks like McCormick who was smacked of his t*ts or Lee Hughes who ran away, brave man. These two are total cowards who should never have come out of prison IMO let alone been allowed to play football again. This could have happened to anybody.

Anyway, we'll have to wait and see what happens with this and like CP says, it could be something to consider for next season.

If we are looking for players with a bit of experience Jordan Robertson is the type of player we will be getting. Fit players with good CVs simply aren't available for free at this time of year.
I would quite like to see someone like him come in. From what I know of him he's a solid striker, Big enough and strong enough to hold the ball up with a trick or two to create an opportunity. A good addition to our front line in my opinion.

Not sure he is what we need right now - simply because he has suffered badly with injuries and I believe has been out of football all season recovering from ACL surgery - so his level of fitness, particularly match fitness, would be questionable to say the least.

That said, if Knill were to stay beyond the summer then I would think there is every chance he would be interested in bringing him in - after all he has signed him twice before, once for a loan spell at Bury and then he gave him his chance (post prison) back in League football by giving him a contract at Scunthorpe, where he did ok it seems but was also unlucky with injury it seems. Ultimately, he was also of course released by Knill as well, but I imagine budget cuts and needing to trim the squad were major factors in the decision not to renew his contract.

Certainly has some quality about him and still has age on his side, but surely far more likely to be a target for next season (if Knill is still here and we are still in the League) when the Manager could have a really good look at him in pre season and assess his fitness properly.

Sounds like carelessness and a tragedy of misfortune, but the sort of thing that could have happened to most drivers:

His career has been far-flung and patchy, much like our Rene's. Worth a look.
