I do not doubt for one minute Atieno is a very nice lad, he allways gave 100% and no doubt applied himself in the correct manner, just simply not good enough, thats why we released him and Barnet have not kept him and their need is a hell of a lot desperate than ours right now.

The fact we do have limited funds is excatly the reason why the club should "not" just rush out and spunk what little money we do have on players because they are dirt cheap. Do not get me wrong I am not suggesting the club spends beyond it's means, but we do have to be careful and make sure we get the right players that can take the club forward not backwards, Atieno is not the answer, never will be.

As said on another thread wait to summer, see what players will or will not sign new contracts, look at the budget we have and then re-think the whole thing, thats the right thing to do, not just rush out and bring back a cheap and nasty option we thought back in the summer would indeed run all day for you, yet was not good enough, nothing will have changed.

I thought he gave everything he had whenever he played, get him back !!!!

Totally agree. His strength as a sub was that he was a totally different player from Rene, so he was quite a handful for defences that had just spent 80 minutes marking Rene. I genuinely thought he looked quite dangerous at times and was a bit disappointed when he was let go. He's never going to set the world on fire, but he's decent and dirt cheap.

I'm enjoying reading what Jeff has to say tonight. Even if i don't always agree.

Sorry if it seems like I'm disagreeing with all your opinions tonight (its not intentional!), but comparing Yeoman to either of the other two isn't really comparing like for like. Yeoman definitely looks like he's well suited to the role Jarvis is currently occupying, whereas we are after something either as an alternative or backup to Rene. I'd dread to think what a Yeoman/Jarvis forward line would produce.

For what its worth, and not that he's coming back anyway, I thought Atieno did a good job at times. He wasn't the same type of forward as Rene, but seemed to get a hard time from the fans who were expecting just that. I remember one particularly game at Macclesfield last season where he did particularly well (Andy will disagree I know but such is the beauty of the forum!), but he ran the channels far more than Rene did, which pulled their centre halves completely out of shape and left plenty of room for Mansell, O'Kane and Morris to run riot.

But after all, I don't want him back!

Saw this came out in cold sweats thought we re-signed him, Atieno, a player who will hold the ball when he needs to pass, pass the ball he needs to hold it, stop when he should make a run, make a run when he should stop..oh what a frustrating player.

We have Yeoman in the squad he will offer just as much as Logan/Atieno put together, give Yoeman a run out or cut him loose.

He isn't a league 2 footballer IMO but i suppose he could do a job if ABSOLUTELY necessary now and again like he did last season. Logan or Atieno, it's a bit depressing though isn't it?
