I have followed Ultras for years. In fact we sponsored Ultras.com for a while.
My view is the fewer words on flags the better "Hill LEGEND" says it all to me.
You have done some superb flags. I sit in the family stand, as I have done since it was built, so have a different view to most of you peasants!!!!. I will try and take some photos tomorrow (if the game is on) from that side.
Reference flags, obviously we sell them, but we are essentially retailers who import flags from Taiwan, so custom flags are difficult unless you want 500 odd!
My thoughts on the pin badge are simple. If we could come up with a design, I can get them made, sell them for £3 to £3.50 each either via our website, the club shop???, ebay or Amazon, with at least £1- £1.50 going to buy materials for flags.
I have to say you have done a remarkable job in a short time. Well done everyone.
A few years back I remember a large square yellow flag with a gull on it, does anyone know what has happened to that???? It really was impressive.
I feel the key with ultra groups is to encourage all types of flags, none are too small or too large, or say the wrong thing. The more people involved the more this has a chance of becoming part of the culture.
When I went up to York City twice in one season it has to be said their ultras presence was the highlight of the trips. These guys are just not competitive at all, they wish all clubs had ultra groups, so feel free to contact those at Stanley, York or Barrow for tips
