I don't want to be a negative Ned, but we already have a system to stop players from doing all the things mentioned in the article, the rules! It's already against the rules to steal yards at a throw in or obstruct a quick free kick, if the players don't listen to those, what chance have we that they'll listen to some "initiative"?

This all smacks of the'Respect'campaign, and look where that got us, the battle of Cheaty Town and a 12 game ban for Bellend Barton. I'm due the idea is a lovely over, but it'll make absolutely sod all difference.

An absolutely great principle and one I would completely endorse. Trouble is we are talking about football people here. Never forget the old saying "professional football keeps a lot of people out of prison". Some still manage to get in there despite being professional footballers but the majority get reigned in by the discipline at their clubs and focus on their football ... but part of it important to them is to get their 'bad' side out on the foootball pitch. Anger management ... kick lumps out of your opponent! Oh well although I knew what I was thinking I started rambling worse than Trojan. Matron ... get me back into bed!! ;-)

I can't really see that pie eating trouser dropping referee abusing bar steward up the road in jolly old Rotherham embracing this....
