Re: FA Youth Cup...

In th circumstances, I guess this is what was expected and our lads should have nothing to be ashamed of.

To put it in perspective, it made me realise wht level of quality they would be up against when during the Man u - crystal palace game in the week, united brought on last years leading youth scorer Ravel Morrison. These sorts of players would walk into most championship sides today if they went out on loan, are decorated with all sorts of international honours at junior level and have been nurtured or hand-picked by the club. Compare that to the short history of our youth team, and to give them a bit of a game is quite an achievement.

Sounds like a great result in the circumstances after all it was MAN U we were taking on who have the pick of the youth. Well done lads !

Watched the game on Man U tv, and they worked hard, but there was a big difference in skill and experience. We played 4-5-1 and in the 1st half and other than Thompson up front, didn't have much of an impact, but he caused a few problems to a really talented Man Utd defence.

In the 2nd half Latimer supported Thompson more and had one great strike which was well saved, but 4-0 was a fair reflection. Under great pressure thought our central defense did really well despite a couple of errors, Nardiello looked good at right back, Kudi did well in the 2nd half in a holding midfield role, and Thompson impressed the commentators throughout.

Did think we looked overawed in the 1st half, and played far too deep at first, but the level of Europeam talent in the Man Utd side, with players from all over Europe and beyond, it was always going to be tough.

Watched the second half and I thought we were unlucky not to score a few goals. Thompson looks like one to keep an eye on. Caused the Man U back line some real problems at times.

Well done to the boys, the future looks bright.

Just gone 3-0 down but Thompson up front is looking really good in my opinion, latimer just had a good chance well saved, kudi is also looking good in midfield

I notice that Friday's Youth cup game is being shown on MUTV Live....Does anyone reckon the club will show it in the Gulls Nest or in the unlikely case that somewhere might show it live? Would quite like to watch it...
