They played us off the pitch and deserved to win by more, their style very reminiscent of Borehams on Saturday and although they only won by a goal, they totally dismantled us for 90 minutes and should have won more easily. Don’t you remember that one as I take it you were there?
2023? Great.
Jeez, why dont you go back to 1974, when Darlo played us off the park when they won 4-2...???
And no I wasn't there - not that makes any difference - but watched it on TV if thats OK with you...

I am not sure what you know about the club but from someone who has actually been supporting the club for well over 50 years we have advanced more in one season than many clubs evolve in two generations. We are a debt free club, we are run by fans for the fans , how many clubs can claim that statement. Many have said, myself included that promotion this year was always a tall order, if you saw the way Boreham ran us ragged on saturday then the gulf in class shows we were never ready for promotion , that was not on the club or the manager or even the players as a whole just that we lacked the quality needed for that final push.

Actually, I too have been supporting the club for over 50 years, so please try and get a little perspective!

In America, prisoners on Death Row get to order a last meal before being executed, which consists of anything they want. It doesn't mean that they are going to enjoy the meal though does it?

So all the singing and shouting about how wonderful things are at Plainmoor, doesn't disguise another fact? In the words of Blackadder: " We've advanced no further than an asthmatic ant with heavy shopping! "

Of course bigger crowds should help in any promotion bid, but to say we must be promoted because we have more people at matches than you do! Takes me back to the prep-school playground!

Th season before under johnson was just civil war, the fans on one side and Johnson and the owners on the other, I am convinced Johnson knew full well the ultimate plans of our previous owner were , certainly even before the more well informed fan did. So the two last seasons are as different as chalk and cheese. What a strong fanbase and bigger corwds brings you is finance to achieve that next step.

I'm not a fan as I've often stated but the target was promotion and he almost delivered so no need for panic from me. I do feel he's too negative and that's probably what grates me the most. That said he's done more than enough to justify the chance to improve us further for a serious crack next season.

What I don't want to see is the same dour performances that dominated this season. He's set us on an upward trajectory thanks to the backing of the Bryn Consortium so I'm expecting a big improvement in the squad next season.

The positivity around the club has been unbelievable after so many years of toxicity and let's all hope it continues.

B+ for me this season and hoping for an A next season.

Well said Dave, says me from posting!
Heart say disappointed we didn't win - head says we'd have needed a lot of changes to have been competitive in NL.
For me, it was a great season, as I didn't expect us to have a team to support.
Thanks againg to the Bryn Consortium.

Taelee73 wrote: 04 May 2025, 19:58 He made us hard to beat, I agree that I hope he can now start more adding guile and pace to the side. Tbf his Truro side totally dismantled us at Plainmoor not so long ago playing the same football Boreham did on Saturday, but to build a first eleven and squad that can do that will take time.

My question was: what is the difference between not being promoted last season, to not being promoted this season? The simple answer being - nothing!

And to say that we have some sort of Divine Right to be playing at a higher level because our fan base is more impressive than others - nonsense!

We played Truro 3 times this season and beat them 3 times - added to that their free scoring attack didnt score a goal against us. SO quite how they "dismantled" us I'm not sure.

Any debate on whether or not Wotton should be manager next season is are totally ridiculous given what he started with.

Whether he was negative or not he got us 89 points.

That said I accept he is under huge pressure to produce next season.

Such a shame come the final knockings… But we are a force to be reckoned with now with a rejuvenated fanbase and community feel to the club.
It would have been a fairytale to get promoted after all we’ve been through.
But maybe it’s going to be a blessing in disguise as we need a decent foundation to go up and more importantly stay there.
Coyy !!!!!!!!
