Yes, dogs certainly know how to kick the shit out of you when they die.

I know how you are feeling Dave.

You can try all you like to get a bite, but as per my earlier post... I'm happy 😊

Easy warmup game for Maidstone tonight, but tougher tests to come in the shape of Eastbourne. Poor old Worthing, atleast they have that famous 5-1 victory in the FA trophy to look back on.

Delighted Weston's late charge ran out of steam when it did, a team breaking into the play-offs at the very end in a rich vein of form would've really thrown a variable into the mix.

That's bonkers, Weston's loss to Truro effectively cost us top spot.

What a final day it was. Congratulations to Truro and the six that remain fight it out to join them 👏🏻

All things being equal that would mean a Gulls v 'Boro final at Plainmoor. But if this season has taught us anything it's that nothing is straightforward. Everyone finished so close to each other the final placings mean even less than normal.

Many twists and turns still to come but you've earned the right to not have to travel anywhere so it's yours to lose now 👏🏻

Who recalls Professor Sir Jonathan Van-Tam who used footballing analogies when at the rostrum with the clown Boris during the lock downs?

He turned out to be a season ticket holder at Boston. Well, we have our own leading light. Yesterday morning, while still in the county on my drive up, I was listening to Radio Devon and they interviewed Professor Sir Ian Diamond who, as National Statistician, is the boss of the National Statistics Organisation. So he was on to explain the various permutations in NLS before the final game.

He was born in 1954 and studied at Torquay Boys' Grammar School having been born in Kingskerswell and moved to Torquay at the age of two. His age means that he must have been there in the junior forms when I was doing O and A levels. He’s an avid football fan, a qualified referee (presumably ‘ex’) and was at Truro in the rain last week to see us win!

When I started this thread on 9th March we had 9 games to play and I predicted we would finish on 90 points which I thought at the time would win the Title.

Well we now know we won 7,drew 1 and lost 1, at home to Chesham, accumulating a magnificent 22 points out of 27 and finishing with 89 points losing out to Truro City on goal difference.

Congratulations to Truro City on an amazing achievement in reaching the National League for the first time in their history.

Congratulations to Paul Wotton on a runners up spot with a team assembled in record time after we survived dissappearing into oblivion as a Football Club.

To the players what an amazing effort & I still think you can do it and expect a sell out crowd next Saturday assuming it is Saturday and not Sunday.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the Bryn Consortium for saving us at the 11th hour. COYY.

Thank you both. I thought he was close to going 9 months ago so I'm counting the time since as a blessed bonus. He has dozens of offspring in the Police and other working arenas so his legacy will continue to thrive.

Sorry to hear about your dog as well, Southampton Gull. As we all know, dogs are a big part of the family and are a big loss.
Lets hope the lads give us some cheer this afternoon.
