The Final 15 Games

I would settle just for a League 1 target at the moment. If a 'club that never die''s" Accrington Stanley can more than hold their own in that league with an average crowds of 2,700 and one of the poorest stadium in the whole football league - we must be in with a shout.

Burton had a good run in the Championship on crowds that would be no different to ours. There are plenty of other examples too.

If Gary Johnson can get Yeovil to the Championship , he can get us there then we will be one step away from the promised land and our 6000 gates won't be a problem
The Champiomship that GJ got Yeovil into isn't the same one that exists now. Every year there are 3 new teams coming down from the Premier League with parachute payments in excess of £40m. And then they get another £30m the year after (if they don't go back up). This distorts competitions becasue it's theoretically possible to have 9 teams with 'free money' outside of what everybody else can have. And this is on top of what they may have been able to make from the gravy train while they were in the Premier League.

So, while it is theoretically possible for us to be promoted into the Championship, I'd say it's exponentially harder now that it was even ten years ago.

If we were to get there, our gates would be at least 12,000 - assuming we have the capacity, which would mean more money but then you'd be expected to pay Champiosnhip wages. The economics of it are probably beyond us, but I'd love to believe it could happen one day.

Hell, even League 1 has a club or two of great stature that we could never hope to compete with on an even financial footing. Sunderland get £34m this year in Premier League parachute payments. Ok, they have thier issues, but I bet that's more than our operating costs for 10+ years!

I could not resist revisiting this thread.
Kingsgull83 you were right "Champions by Easter"
We have taken 25 points from the last 10 games only dropping points to WSM at Home what a crazy result and drawing at Woking.

Woking have taken just 16 points from the last 11 games winning only 4 games.
To cap our season 12 goals in 3 games would see us reach 100 League Goals.Come on boys you can do it!!

He did indeed and got promoted with Bournemouth from the league we were in whilst we went in the opposite direction. Did quite well for himself after as well and was Assistant Manager to John Bond at Manchester City reaching the FA Cup final in the late 1970's.

As long as they can keep selling the tv rights they are ok. If sky one day fail to cough up there are the internet giants like Netflix and amazon ready to step in. It's going to be a while before the premier league goes tits up.

Ticket sales for Premier League clubs are a fairly low proportion of income, which is why Bournemouth can compete with 12,000 crowds.
TV money depends on league position and the number of games shown live, but last season West Brom received the lowest income and that was £94 million.
Meanwhile the likes of Torquay United get nothing.

Think it's something like 70 million pounds a season not a bad return once you reach the land of gold and honey.

Was about to stay the same. This is why so many clubs further down the pyramid run themselves to the wall in a effort to get there. Just one season in the Premier League could see a well run club solvent for decades.

scoring 2 each. Incredible what they are doing on
crowds of 10,000. Must be haemorrhaging money
