MOTM - Barrow

A tough ask to pick out five players this time. It was a good (second half) team performance. But here are my five -
Dowling - a lad with a bright future in the game and well done to him for agreeing to stay at Plainmoor until the end of the season.
Young - 100% effort and 94 minutes of non-stop involvement
Romain - gave the Barrow defence all sorts of problems all afternoon
Davis - very effective attacking down the right wing
Barnes - described as a 'protecting midfield player' (why the hell do three central defenders need protecting??), but he pushed forward and seems to be able to 'read' the game well

I have not been a great fan of Brett Williams, but he put in a good shift yesterday. I didn't notice him getting into any running 'spats' with the ref so perhaps he learned at Bromley to concentrate on his game instead of constantly questioning the ref. I wanted to include Sean McGinty as he dominated Grant Holt all afternoon. Even though Holt is well past his prime, he can still be a danger if given the chance.

Romain. My MOTM. A lively and full on performance. Obviously loving the opportunity.

McGinty. Rock solid.

Dowling. Very committed performance. He is also loving the chance to play First Team Football at a young age.

Davis. Covered a lot of ground.

Young. Always at the centre of play.

Very hard today to name just 5. We looked like a team today. Well done the lads.

Romain - Great work rate, good skills, created much for himself also, shame we didnt get him sooner.

Dowling - The lad battles well and constantly tries to boss the game and get them to play football, I like that.

Young - A good game, battled and played football

Williams - Worked hard, showed some pace and skills, looks like a centre forward, nearly scored a cracking overhead kick.

Barnes - An integral part of the midfield machine, again, same as the other two, battled and tried to pass the ball around.

Everybody had a good game and played well, keep up that standard and who knows what might happen.

Romain (my MOM who ran his socks off with some lovely footwork)
Dowling ( has a footballer's brain)
Gowling (marshalling the defence - not sure about the penalty either)
Young (looked like there was weight off his shoulders)
Williams (who put in a full shift and drew some hefty punishment from some cynical defending)
