I would not go as far as to say Brett Williams was rubbish more our style of play and formation was not suited to him. You might criticize him for not trying harder to adapt or indeed criticize Nicho for not creating a formation that suited Williams given he is a proven goal scorer and we needed goals. All came good at the end but it was to little too late I am afraid. Was sorry to see him go but we move on to a new pairing -

You could replace Williams with Prince Edward for all the hard work he put in last year. I'm happy with Pittman, but would like to see another striker added to the squad. As ever, finances, availability and location will dictate what happens.

Slightly off topic but Williams has signed for Bromley!

Pittman's most prolific season as a scorer was last season with 11 goals from 21 games for Harrogate in the National League North. But how come he only played 21 games? Is he injury prone or just a bench warmer?
I just don't see anything yet to suggest he is an adequate replacement for Williams unless he is a squad player in which case we still need a bone fide striker, otherwise we are placing a very heavy burden on Keating who is still a developing talent.

A partnership of Keating & Pittman looks quite promising. to me. Brett Williams has nobody but himself to look at when reasoning why he's not at TUFC!

lucy6lucy wrote: 23 Jun 2017, 20:59 Anyway this is about Pittman. Williams is gone, his ego sadly effected the team and results.
Nicolson knew what sort of player he was getting when he signed Williams. Williams was wasted for the early part of the season because Nicholson didn't know how to manage a player he had spunked money on. Quite frankly I would rather have Williams stay and Nicholson go. All Nicholson has managed to show in two seasons is that he can inspire a team when everything is up shit creek sans paddle. What we need is a manager who can avoid getting up shit creek in the first place.

Has Williams signed for anyone yet? Wasn't there a rumour going around he was lined up for Dover?

It's all about blend in the team and the manager has to look at this as when Keating and Williams were together we started to look a lot better.
Williams was not selected and did not deserve a place in the side at one stage but perhaps he was beginning to feel wanted.

Really? I agree he scored a few goals but over the majority of the season his attitude was suspect. I personally feel the togetherness of the team kept us up in the end.
