It's weird how players like this have this amazing season or two where everything goes right and they're highly coveted prolific players and then one day it disappears and they struggle to find any stability or form in subsequent seasons. Karl Hawley is another name with such a record, he was banging them in for Carlisle and then it all just dried up. There's something ever so temporary about success in football.
I was at Southport last season and I seem to remember Brodie being involved in Luke Young's red card and making gestures at us when they scored their first goal. I also recall us dominating them for most of the match with ten men, largely because Brodie couldn't hold the ball up. So, I'm not a fan.
