Sorry if the title is a little bit dramatic but I desparately need some assistance if possible from fellow TUFC fans.
I have mentioned on the nostalgic Sherpa Van Trophy 89 thread about creating a TUFC history collage on a canvas frame as a Christmas present for my Dad, he has been going to Plainmoor and following The Gulls 60 years this year.
I am getting to a point with my christmas present project where I am a bit stuck and have to ask on the forum if anyone has any pictures or newspaper clippings they wouldnt mind posting or uploading, anything will do, whatever people feel is relevant. A lot of recent stuff is online.
Dad has all of our programmes etc stashed away and its tough getting some of them as I dont want to alert him to what I am doing, I have got hold of some from 80's and 90's and SCOURED THROUGH THEM FOR HOURS, I found some really memorable pics, Crewe 87, Spurs, Lee Sharpe, Caldwells spectacular goals, play offs, wembleys etc. I think the bugger has thrown a load of newspaper clippings out that I got from that time, the only one I could find is Hirons celebrating vs West Ham, so anything like that would be fantastic.
I have 4 books which I have scanned some pics from and have quite a few from online, I am putting together a collage of TUFC historical moments, players and teams then having it printed onto a huge box canvas frame. I have done a few of these before with family members/family history etc and dad is a bit of an old film buff so I did one of golden age hollywood stars and British actors etc from 30's to 70's. It takes hours and hours of sourcing, web searches, scanning, editing etc, but the results are quite stunning. The canvas itself is dirt cheap with a brilliant person on ebay. I will post a pic of it when finished.
Even if nobody has any pics, please could you give me some suggestions or ideas of teams/squads, significant moments or players which would be good for inclusion.
Its amazing how therapeutic all this tripping down memory lane is, it makes you really realise and remember why you love your club.
Please, please, help me.
Many thanks.
Here is a picture of the hollywood canvas to give an idea of what I am looking to do. Imagine a TUFC collage like it.
