Rene Howe doesn't seem to have a club at the moment if Wiki is up to date.

No4 you're right, beggars can't be choosers and we are definitely close to being vagabonds.

Wrexham would be a good fit for him at the moment I think, if quite far from his parent club!

I liked Joe but it was probably the best decision for him as a player to go back to Bournemouth, whenever we sign a striker the first thing we do is wikipedia and check out his goals/apps, playing in a team that gives hardly any service up top makes him look worse than he is. I'd take him back on loan after January when we're in the top half of the table and we've got some decent delivery into the box.

I think with better service, which he will surely get at Wrexham, he will score goals. He was mostly expected to play a lone striker role for us and he hasn't had enough experience to fill that role. We shall see ....... Good luck to Joe, anyway.

"let him slip through the net", when we us he couldn't even find it!! (Ok once).

Don't think it's a case of us letting Quigley slip through the net, there is clear imbalance in the squad. Don't see the point in having a loan striker taking up a space in the squad, when we can't defend for toffee, we keep getting over run in midfield and when the team do get there foot on the ball there's no one in there who can seem to pick a pass, so no supply.

Quigley has gone on loan to Wrexham, will be interesting to see how many/if any goals he gets there

But I was slaughtered on here for suggesting that Fisher - Quigley wasn't an effective combination. One goal later and Quigley is off and you're all delighted.

I much prefer Fisher anyway, good in the air and seems to have a bit about him with the ball on the deck. He could well be the key to us having a side good enough to stay up. Just need some modicum of quality around him. Marsh could well be that man; I like the look of him so far.
At the start it seemed like they had both been brought in to compete for the job of leading the line, but then I guess someone made the decision to play both of them to get the best out of Ex's throws. Silly really.

It's a shame to lose Quigley as I thought he held the ball up well and with the right support could have played in a Rene Howe type role as the figurehead of a 4-3-3 formation or even better as the target man in a 4-4-2.

You can't blame Bournemouth for recalling him though after everything that's happened in the past seven days.

If only, Forever. The problem is that every club from Man City down to Droylesden is looking for a striker with 'real pace and ability to score fairly regularly'. :goal: I think Quigley paired with Marsh with Murombedzi and Hurst out wide could have made us more effective up front. I don't think Quigley and Marsh ever played together but I may be wrong. Certainly the pairing of Quigley and Fisher didn't work. As for Alex Fisher, he's our top scorer but I'm still not sure what his best position is.
