Bowman to Gateshead - Confirmed

Gateshead have signed another striker today, from Cardiff. They also have Jon Shaw, a seasoned campaigner at this level. It will be intersting to see where Bowman fits in.

Bet he gets sent off in his first match, though!

Where have the stats come from Bowman's stint at York? From what I can see he got 8 in 37 appearances, not groundbreaking and also a worse record that season than the much maligned Ryan Jarvis.

The most league goals he has ever scored in one season is 15, so hardly a guaranteed 20 per season.

We have also signed a player in Fairhurst who had a better record last season and overall in his career. From my research Bowman is at 47 from 176 league games compared to Fairhurst at 42 from 116. Based on those I know who I would choose.

:) front 11, as in first 11, starting 11, the best 11 that will start baring injury or suspension.. :)

I mean seriously, who actually *wants* to live t'up north, it's f**king horrible.

I think we'll end up with a decent enough front 11, the squad in depth could be little to weak though.

It's going to take time for the squad to gel, and for everything to come together, actually think having a though opening run of fixtures may help us, think it's better to play the top sides early, while pitch's are still in good nick, and hopefully injury's and suspensions haven't affected the squad to much, rather get those games over before the squad is tad threadbare.

Massive shame, he'll score 20 goals for them this season and with all due respect so far the forwards we have aren't really proven at this level as regular goalscorers. Bowman was one of the reasons I thought we definitely won't be involved at the bottom of the league with him going and this squad nowhere close to being ready for the season I am slightly concerned for it.

Many parts of the north are breathtakingly beautiful. And there are some parts of South Devon which are absolutely horrible. And London is hell on earth. I mean, seriously, who'd want to live in Harriet Harman's constituency..?? :-/

Wasn't Bowman's goal return for York in League two ? If so looks all the better.

Bowman reportedly wanted to move back north. If that's the case, then Mr Cox was absolutely right to let him go.
