Not in yesterday's H&Y match day squad for their 1-1 draw with Maidenhead. Injured or returned to sender?

I'd almost certainly be thinking that even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

Matt.

That sort of tells you all you need to know and why he will probably be back here at the end of the month.

That 'goal' on Boxing Day was not disallowed for offside but, confirmed by the referee's report, for handball.

Just wondering what everyone would think had Benyon's "equaliser" against Bristol Rovers not been a yard offside. Would everyone then be calling for him to come on "to grab a last minute goal" whenever we were not in front.

Benyon is a proven goalscorer at this level but has been truly savaged by injury after injury, from hand to brain from what I remember. That's the issue, it's not to do with raw talent. My guess is that if Elliot does get himself match fit, he will get the opportunity (be it at Torquay or elsewhere) so be a regular scorer at Conference level. In fact a fit Benyon is currently what we need, to run in behind defences, and cause hassle and uncertainty in defences.

He needs some gametime so at least he can get some games. Shame it hasn't worked out for him but he has been injured for most of the season so its difficult for any player to make an impact in these circumstances.
If he can get four or five games in during the loan spell it could benefit him - seems a sensible move to me.

Interesting it's only for a month as they therefore can't be paying much of his wages!

However I don't know if im the only one but i'd rather Benyon as an option from the bench than Yeoman

Not sure how much H&Y will be able to pay towards his wages, assuming that he's not far off 4 figures per week. Maybe they are gambling on him shooting them up the table, but I think playing games is vital for him just now to try to halt his career decline. He's looking almost certain to be released in the summer, or taking a huge pay cut, so he needs to put himself in the shop window. It's hard to believe how far his stock has fallen, given that he's still only 27 and should be in the peak of his career.

I'm quite surprised thats its only for a month and as such, I cant see it releasing any money to bring others in. Unless thats for a month as well.
