Highway to Hele - Issue 3 out now

For anyone who is interested, I did a little interview about Highway to Hele with the lovely chaps at the Western Morning News and here is the result.

Work on Issue 4 will be gathering pace shortly.

Got mine yesterday but haven't had a chance to look at it yet as I've been busy watching basketball and that other kind of football. Does the Sermanni update say he lost his USA job because Abby Wambach is an evil, washed-up crybaby? It should say that.

Really enjoyed the latest issue.

Great insights into the life and dedication of the Ladies' Manager / Driver / Lino / Launderer / Secretary / PR man / Sports Counsellor and Psychologist!

I'm always fascinated to read about ex-players. The Goodridge and Sermanni updates were both interesting and surprising - for different reasons. Yes, I remember Beds' having a good game once too!

Well done for the detective work, and for the zine as a whole.

Tony 'call me Anthony' Bedeau! One of United's unforgettable, yet paradoxically forgotten, heroes. Poor Tony had one good game in eighty. We (the old codgers in the pop. side) used to call it his 'cocaine moment'. It usually happened once a season - or maybe once in every two seasons. But when he was hot he was hot! And Tony's 'cocaine moments' earned him trials at Sunderland (and somewhere else?) and a move to Walsall. But basically he was ordinary - a fourth div. journeyman.

Just bought mine and did something incredibly smart, purchasing number 2, 3 AND the subscription to 3,4 and 5...

Wait a minute! That's two number 3's!

I can't be bothered to sort out a refund for £1 and the postage, so could the extra copy be sent to the person who replies to this thread with the best reason why they should get a free copy? Funnier, the better, I reckon!

Also, if the eventual winner fancies making a charitable donation with their saved £1, I'm sure it will earn some extra brownie points!

Thanks everyone who has subscribed or bought a copy. Please do let me know either on here or via Twitter/Facebook what you think. I think this issue is another belter, but maybe I'm biased!

;-)

New contributors are more than welcome RussianGull, it would be great if you have something to share. There will be two more issues this season.

Really pleased that everyone seems to be enjoying it. It makes the 2am writing sessions worth it!

Hi folks,

Just a quick one. Issue 3 is out now and includes interviews with Guy Branston, Tony Bedeau and TULFC manager Ant Roach. All great interviews.

Elsewhere, 'Where are they now?' returns, plus features on the youth setup, what makes Gulls fans special, some matchday journals from the Aldershot and Grimsby games, plus two historical match reports - one from Carlise 2006 and one from Wolves 1989!

Plenty more too.

All for just £1, available from http://www.highwaytohele.bigcartel.com. Previous issues and part-subscription deal also available.

Thanks.
