Considering the fact that he's turned his face away and the fact that the video shows him very quickly extend his arms to block the ball still suggests reactions to me, not the act of someone purposefully trying to cheat. It's just too fast for a big, bumbling centre back.

By the rules of the game, he's handled the ball as the last man and probably deserves a red card. Still doesn't mean that it isn't a harsh decision.

As to their commos bleating on about the lino giving it instead of the ref, I really can't wait until one of theirs gets his leg broken right in front of the lino, who doesn't subsequently give the foul, see what they have to say then.

Was the finish for the first really that scrappy? Looks to be as though he very classily opens the face of his foot to steer it into the net. It's not the best video, so I could be wrong. Second one was a great goal. I spoke to Chris after the T&D game (Richards' first) and he was desperate to sign him. We're all now seeing why.

Yep I've just seen the highlights and the red card seemed harsh to me too. However, as Matt has said, if his hands had not been up we might well have gone on to score the first goal anyway.

I don't care if O'Achie's goals are scrappy, crappy, happy, or slappy, the important thing is that we now have players who are snappy rather then flappy and can find the gappy and tappy the ball in the net.. :-D

Just watched the highlights. A few points to make of the key sections of the match:-

Red card - I personally thought this would a little harsh. Yes, his hands were up and yes, he was the last man. He was also stopping a ball from hitting him directly in the face. It's the natural reaction of anyone who isn't a boxer to get your hands in the way of something about to ruin your beautiful facial features. Nothing more malicious than instincts to me.

Penalty - There was a foul on (I believe) Tonge before the foul. I think the referee was making up for the red card decision.

1st Torquay Goal - Lovely ball from Cruise followed up by a perfect cross from Cameron and a scrappy but effective finish from O'Achie. Very promising.

2nd goal - Nice passing build up followed by a great long range shot from Richards. How refreshing is it to see someone take a pot shot successfully from outside the box? Seems to rarely happen for us.

3rd goal - Lovely link up play from the 2 strikers followed by another scrappy but effective finish from O'Achie. Doesn't matter how they go in, of course.

For someone who doesn't get chance to go to many games in a season, it certainly looks like we're starting to play well with some good individual talent in the team. Here's hoping we can push on now and really start to contending for promotion/play offs.

or have i just not seen it?

anyone else fancy contacting them about this glaring oversight??
I think it may be because clubs do their own highlights, im not even sure BT would have the rights to show them. they would have to give each club a yearly amount and send down cameras to each match. im not too sure if this is finacially viable for BT to do this.
Alternatively BT could pay a small amount to have permission to the Youtube highlights, just download them and put it in a half hour / hour show. we wouldnt even need commentators.

From the corner though Duane should have scored, but now he has two, HOPEFULLY he will be more confident and he will score a few more this season.

Thanks for posting the link.

Surprised that Lincoln even bothered to appeal the red card as his hands WERE up and he WAS the last man = :red: . I also feel they were lucky with the penalty too as there does appear to be a shove in the back of Tonge and Downes may have even got something on the ball as well ..... and their striker went down very easily!

Great goal by Richards though. Not only was it a quality strike from 25 yards into the bottom corner but I think I counted NINE passes in the build up which is nice to see and something that hasn't happened too often in recent seasons!

Anyone not seen the highlights for the Lincoln match here is the video unlisted so only people with link can see.

was hoping we'd see them on youtube. I cancelled my gullsplayer account last season because..well, it was crap. Commentaries and match highlights are nice but the user experience was so terrible to find them, I stopped bothering. website is and remains a total joke. Do we have *any* idea when the gulls player thing might go away?

I wouldn't pay the Gulls player subs out of principle but why don't we chip in a quid each and have a universal password/username - then we can all see the goals.
no they dont and i think there are only a few clubs that still use player in the confrence. the majority will upload to youtube. my gulls player runs out next week. i could probably screen record and upload to youtube if this is allowed. Now just need to remember password.
