So it ended up being Briscoe who we wished happy birthday to. I hope we get him a cake.

We're probably waiting to see who shines in the World Cup before putting a cheeky bid in for them.

I think Rendell signed a new contract for Woking so probably not him.

My money is on John O'Flynn.

As for the new striker and sponsor?

I fully expect a big announcement later this week...........................informing us that Kajagoogoo are to play Boots in their first leg of their comeback tour. Sadly no sponsor which is already lined up apparently or no new additions to the playing staff. (The latter I can understand).
I'll have a go here Andy, sponsor; Rainbow Funhouse. Striker; Scott Rendell, disclaimer if either should come true, this post is meant as a joke, I'm not in the know.

Oh yeah, Nathan.

Technically superb at set pieces but sadly he can't play football. If he could he would have done so by now. Like mustard says, he has not had many opportunites but the ones he HAS had he has been appalling therefore he can have little complaint. Time for a new career I think for the lad and maybe part time footy somewhere as a bonus.

A tad harsh? You decide.

I don't think that Nathan has had a fair chance this season by only getting a couple of starts and a couple of substitutions. When he did not shine.
I just wish him the best of luck and grab the chances you get and make the best of them.

Anyone heard anything about the striker CH is said to be close to signing (by the herald)? Or about sponsors. It's all gone a bit quiet!

Thats my thinking, as well Lucy. I always felt the same about Billy Kee. I know they are young (Well Billy was/is) but for goodness sake!! Do you want to play football or not? Sadly its not always possible to play for the team that has its home ground near to your Mum's house. Shock horror.

Good job the young lads who fought for our freedom, in Normandy, didn't say the same thing. "Sorry Sarg, cant go to France, today, as its a bit of a long way and I might get home sick. :Z

Man up fellas. ;-)

Having said that, I would like to wish Nath all the best, wherever he goes. I always liked him. Same with Billy. Fair dues, he has stayed at Burton (Near to his Mum) but he has a wife and, I believe, a very young baby now so I guess he has "Manned Up" ;-)

Speaking of Mick O Brien...

I was playing a football match for charity the other day, and one of the guys on the other team was clearly a really good player - English too. We got talking after the game and he asked who I supported I told him and he said 'oh yeah, one of the guys I work with used to play for them." Mick O'Brien is now a coach with Everton America, who run coaching classes all summer for the kids up here. Apparently he still likes a drink.

Doubt it, if he's not good enough for us he won't be good enough for them either. Chester at a push, or Colwyn Bay would suit him better

Parallels can probably be drawn with Mick O'Brien, who was at Everton but didn't quite make it here despite showing undoubted ability.

If he was playing week in, week out, as he was briefly was under Martin Ling, he might not be in the situation whereby he was feeling homesick.

Wish him the best of luck, it's fair to say that the last 18 months must have been pretty frustrating! I don't think he ever really reproduced the sort of form that we saw from him in friendlies/reserve outings for the first team. No doubt, he has a fantastic delivery with his left foot, but the rest of his game just isn't up to it at League level. I would be surprised if he gets picked up by someone as decent as Wrexham, perhaps Chester might be a decent shout in the league below, or he may just go back and play with his home town club Caernarfon and start to enjoy his football again, something I doubt he has done here for a while.
