I don;t know if anyone has been to Albion Rovers. but it is little more than a field surrounded by high rise flats. with Rust for a roof on both sides. Nothing either end and more people watching outside the ground than inside when we were there. and that was only a friendly against Celtic youth.
I imagine if anyone saw the place, most would expect to be paid to go in and they would lock the doors once inside to make sure you didn't escape.

or just pay to get out, the club would have been quids in by half-time most games last season ! :slap:

Perhaps it should be pay on the way out and pay what you think the game was worth!!

I went to a home Basingstoke town game this year when at the turnstile the guy said pay whatever you want. I had to ask again It didn't compute as I wasn't aware it was happening. I asked what the normal price was and paid that.

Its a dangerous one, but you could try it for one game.

I'm pretty sure FC United have done something similar.

That's not a complete hair brained idea at all, however I see a flaw regards Torquay United adopting such an idea, I believe that Albion Rovers only have a few full time professionals and would imagine their overheads are some what smaller than Torquay's making this scheme more workable for them. If TUFC were to adopt this scheme it could be a financially fatal error.

I heard it on the radio, it certainly sounded interesting. They were convinced they could make it work, and that revenue from season tickets has far eclipsed last years.

Still sceptical it would work here or indeed anywhere long term.

Maybe Torquay should look at the marketing from this club Albion rovers football club of league 2 in scotland are offering next years season tickets at 11 pound! great initiative to offer fans 'pay what you can afford' for them. its on the bbc website that real fans are paying full price of 140 quid
