academy future

Do not think there are any concerns over the academy's short term future, the club does keep it's funding for next year, after that there are several roads the club can go down. Donations, attracting sponsorship for the youth set up, charging the parents a monthly training fee.

The biggest problem is, charging a training fee coupled with being a non-league club makes our academy some what less attractive, and the longer we remain a non-league club the harder it will become to find the funding to keep it going in it's current form.

Last I heard was that news of whether we had obtained Category 3 status again was imminent. There was something on the OS about a month ago with Hargreaves also saying how important it was that we obtained it. Not seen anything else since.

I have just been looking at Rovers new Forum. It appears the club has suspended the old one as of Yesterday.
One thread has started a thread about a rumour that their academy is likely to close at the end of the season, with one parent being told that if they get an offer from any other club they should take it.
Should we be keeping an eye on this in case we can pick up a couple of likely prospects.
This thread also mentioned us. it seems ours may also have a similar problem at the end of the season. Is this likely to happen. I knoq it may be safe for this year. But next year is another thing. as money will be tighter if we do not go up.
Just pray we get good gates. a good cup run and plenty of requests to have the cameras there from the BBC.
