In return Andy, I see where your coming also. One striker doesn't guarantee anything, for me it's about the ratio of chances created to goals scored, there were at least four chances plus at Cheltenham, two I can remember v Newport, and from listening to the radio perhaps a couple of decent chances created at York, even if we had stuck 50% of chances away we have five more points and unbeaten in four games.
The problem is we have two players in Stockley and Enoch who are both players I would refer to as forwards rather than out and out strikers, they are players that create chances for others and weigh in with the odd goal, our strikers are Benyon who's spend most of the last few games with his nose firmly planted in the mud, and Yeoman hasn't had a run in the side.
Yes relegation is now looking likely, but what's frustrating me, is the gap is just 6 points, yep, we're relying on others to lose, but there's enough sides above us struggling right now, we've lost the last two games and gap hasn't grown, four points from our next two games and gap could be down to, two points and everything to play for.
So appears that Stockley is a free loan judging my Matt's post, well bollocks to free loans, yes it's a risk, agree to pay the wages of a goal scorer, it might be a risk that pays huge dividends, relegation will not cost us £800,000, it will eventually cost us that and ultimately more, and that's per year, not a one off cost.
