Yep, it could be a bit of both. But my analogy, give Alan Knill £2,000 and tell him to go and buy a low mileage Lexus , he's going to come back with a high mileage Fiat. Motivation and tactics, again, get the best mechanic with the best tools and ask to improve the high mileage Fiat, he's going to say, what do you want me to do, the Fiat has it's day, it's f.u.b.a.r.
That's the thing here, some will tell you good league 2 players cost £2,000 a week , the club can't afford that, well yes in a way there right, but the club also as I've said on my thread found £200,000 to spend on things like the training still not fit for purpose, had they even diverted half that money and backed Martin Ling or in this case Alan Knill, would AK have signed Hawley and Benyon, simple answer, NO, would we now be in this position, maybe not.
When ML sold £600k's worth of players that's when the board had the chance to secure our FL status for years to come, romantic notions of us coming straight back to me, hope I'm wrong are far wide of the mark, look at what we did last time down there, yes remember it, loved it, but our circumstances are vastly different now , the fresh investment, the new beginning, the renewed self confidence, the club and fans had then has all gone.
Re-build our club again, we HAD to stay in league , the futures bleak and isn't yellow, unless we get further fresh investment.
