How about a rehash of theme tune to gash 70s children's programme, 'You and Me':

"Showunmi, me and you
Lots and lots for us to do
Lots and lots for us to see
Me and you, Showumni"

Seems to have some resonance!

He'll do exactly the job we had done to us recently. Northampton had Sinclair to batter our centre backs, Accrington had Odejayi. We had Wilkinson against Accrington and Burton, and the sooner the sulking little whinger goes back to Bolton, the better.

This seems a sound acquisition. Hawley should now be bench at best, and Elliot to feed off Showunmi's flicks. I'm sure we'll all be happy to see Utd win ugly. Any win will do.

ADMIN EDIT: Removed usual petty attack on poster

Decent signing, we've been after him for months and months and only now have we got him. The story of our season, too little too late all through (we suspect).

Matt.
Ah coincidentally who I thought it would be, your last message gave it away and the fact that we've been after him before clinched it for me.

Will he be any good? No idea to be honest, I suppose a bit of experience could be good. I doubt he'll score much, but as someone has already mentioned, he could facilitate the likes of Benyon chipping in with more, especially if old Harding can replicate the service into him that he provided on Tuesday.

I haven't trawled through this thread, the title and the first few comments were enough.

Have any of you seen this munter 'play'? he is utter garbage, and that is a slur on rubbish. He couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. One of many of todays 'professional' footballers who is stealing a living.

I've seen him on many occasions, how his agent cons clubs into giving him a contract is a mystery of modern sport.

People on here saying to late are missing a point. It wouldn't matter.

If he can cause defenders problems and holds the ball up, that will be a start.

Pleased with this signing because I think we need an older head up front, the continuous conveyor belt of youngsters hasn't really worked so maybe Showunmi can hold the ball up and give Benyon chances to shoot.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow

A very big guy at 6' 5" aged 31. A 10 year career with 7 clubs including Leeds Utd suggests he could make a difference BUT looks like Chris Hargreaves will need all his man management skills to get the best out of him.

Could he be another Rene Howe and enjoy playing and scoring for little old Torquay? We will soon know.

Much rather this guy than the endless stream of child-like loanees we've endured. Notts County fans can say what they want, at least he's played enough games at this level that they can form an opinion of him.

Has scored goals, is a big guy and a bit of a handful (and thats nothing to do with the song Leeds fans sung about him!). Ticks boxes for me.

I was expecting an announcement that Wilkinson had gone back Wednesday morning. Lad clearly had an attitude problem when substituted on Tuesday night, prior to which he was clearly uninterested in playing and contributed about as much effort as the steward in the men's toilet's - what was that all about.

At a time like this you need unity with every player giving 100%. You only needed to see the difference when Stockley came on. We need warriors at a time like this, not spoilt teenagers who think they are better than they really are! If only they put as much effort into their football as they do their tattoos we would turn things around over night.

I just hope Benyon and this guy don't play to close to one another or we will have a striking partnership that looks a bit like Ray Allen and Lord Charles.

Gottle of gear gottle of gear !!

I think this is may be a case of too little too late. We needed to sign an experienced striker a month ago rather than trying out an endless stream of inexperienced youngsters.

Northampton signed Sinclair, Connell and Marquis. Obviously they're more blessed with funds than we are but players with that sort of experience should have been what we were aiming for.

However whilst it is still mathematically possible we have a chance - he may have a similar impact to Lee Thorpe under Atkins.
