If we went 15 games without a win, I'm not sure I'd notice too much difference to how this season has already been!! :'(

Happy New Year!

34 years ago, a Steve Cooper inspired Torquay won at Deans Court, 2-1 against AFC Bournemouth to move into 5th place in Division 4 (pre-play-offs).

We were in good form, with a team based around John Turner in goal, full-backs in Steve Ritchie and Freddie Pethard, flanking a central defence of Albert Larmour and Richard Bourne.

In midfield were the likes of Donal Murphy, Peter Coffil, Ian Twitchen & one or two others I have forgotten and Les Lawrence & Steve Cooper up front - widely considered, at the time, although perhaps a little biased, as the best partnership in the division. We were certainly looking good at the time, under the management of Mike Green, no hint of re-election concerns because there never had been in 53 years of league membership - that was for teams like Crewe, Rochdale & Hartlepool to worry about. No noises ever came out of Plainmoor that we were punching above our weight to simply be a league club, despite our geographical location.

As it happened, that NY Day success was our last win for 15 games, by which time we fell away to mid-table. Mid-table - how wonderful that idea sounds now....and it was considered to be disappointing back then.

On behalf of myself and the rest of the Norway Gulls I wish you all a happy new year. Hopefully we'll be a league club next time we visit Torquay :)

Happy New Year everybody.

Time to forget the debacle that was 2013. Let's hope 2014 is a better year for us as TUFC fans, starting with 3 points against the Cornish :~D

Happy New Year to all gulls fans on here and beyond! 2013 has been a bit of a stinker all round for us and right now 2014 isn't looking much better, but I will be at Home Park tomorrow (against my better judgment!). All we can do is give the team the best backing possible between now and the end of the season, what will be will be! UTG!

Happy New Year from Leeds everybody, I hope those that have the opportunity to get to home park tomorrow make the most of it regardless of the result. Start the new year with a good atmosphere and support for the men in yellow and white. Those of us that can't travel will hope you'll do us proud and that you enjoy the day out!
