It does seem incredible that cruise is not fully fit yet continues to play.with nico desperate to play. Talk about cutting your face to spite your nose!

Big piece on the official website on Cruise " The walking wounded warrior" and we have Nicho fully fit but not making the bench.

Now that's what I call Shambolic !

I would target Cruise all game if I were Sheridan.

Sorry goodluckgull, I had meant to say, I had no reason to diss-believe what you said, missed a word out, as I often do..

Just trying to get to the bottom of this and end it once and for all, that was my only intention, you have sources close to the player saying one thing, and sources close to the club saying something else. Trying to find who's right, that's all I was after, otherwise this thread is just going to get bumped time and time again.

Many people wanted Nicholson omitted from the first team and that has happened, its a shame that that isn't enough for some people and they insist on some sort of character assassination. Clearly something has happened to warrant Nicholson's exclusion altogether from the match-day squad and if in your opinion that doesn't reflect kindly on Nicho then so be it, but don't try and attribute behaviour to him that you don't know has happened. It is a sad situation. The guy played over 100 league games in a row for Torquay and has now been axed, with a young family to support, and keen not to uproot, I am sure its just as troubling time for him as it is for us. All this talk of him trying to destabilise us is nonsense and offensive to someone who has been nothing short of professional in his 7 years here. Its clearly a disagreement with the manager and we should just leave it at that until if and when it is resolved.

For what it is worth I would like to see him return (although I have accepted the unlikeliness of this) Tom has had a prolonged number of matches now and hasn't made a discernible difference like everyone thought he would. Knill had a straight choice between Cruise and Nicho for the run in last season and went with Nicho's experience, which just about got us over the line, his know how I still think is vital, our defensive line is catastrophic at present. At least with Nicho you know he will be positioned where he should be, we also miss his set pieces too. Cruise is carrying some sort of injury at present, and reshuffling the pack, or carrying on with a handicapped Cruise at the expense of bringing Nicho back in, if only on a one game basis, is cutting off his nose to spite his face.

Above all though I just hope that this disagreement can be resolved, Nicho is far too useful a squad member and old hand to have sitting in the stand. And all this continual sniping at a good servant is in my opinion a very poor way for a good player to leave the club and/or being remembered.

A sad situation, really wish it could be resolved. At minimum Nicho is fit for the bench and you need experienced heads on the pitch and around the training ground when you're in these relegation dog fights (we all know that TUFC have been in enough). I don't see a huge benefit of playing Cruise over Nicho. Granted his attacking mindset and probably pace, but positioning and general defensive know how is a no brainer its Nicho all day long. If we were up the top playing like newcastle of old scoring more than we concede then you can get away with defensively frail fullbacks. But not at the moment.... Alan let bygones be bygones and get it sorted!

Precisely, we don't know. We read between the lines, listen to what people who say they are close to the situation have to say on the matter but we don't actually know anything. In this thread we have someone saying he has been completely frozen out of the first team and someone else saying they have seen him training with the first team.

I don't know about any of you but I don't think I would ever dream of publicly saying anything negative about my boss or work colleagues, at least not in a way where the comments could be traced back to me!

Yes good luck to nico in whetever he does in the future but player power does work at all levels of football and this just shows that IF nico is justified in his battle with Knill then he would be supported by his team mates and captain but alas it seems not.

so........

Very true.

I take the point also about the person disclosing all this going off on a frolic of his/her own and I would also not blame Nico for confiding in friends and family on this issue as these must be difficult and uncertain times for him and his family.

What is loud and clear from those who have said they know Nico or that he has done nothing wrong, is that they all share a very low opinion of the Manager. Has hector moved to East Midlands or are we talking Chesterfield? ;-)

Shame things have come to this and that he hasn't secured the move away he requested. Good luck, Nico.
