I have respect for anyone who, in times of austerity, stumps up the cash to watch us play, home or away. All support should be appreciated in times when it is so easy not to bother and stay in and watch TV.
Desperate times require strong fans with real passion to keep the support going in any way they can. You need the tough times to make the good times all the more glorious. Whenever i start to waiver in belief and desire to keep doing it, I watch Tim Sills' Wembley header on Youtube.
That one moment nullified the four years of agony before it. I remember the feeling when the ball hit the net, I remember how proud I was walking out of Roots Hall in 2004. I have faith that TUFC can continue to make me feel like that again, no matter how long it takes.
Managers, players, board members, they will all come and go, the fans will remain, in 5 years time and in 50 years time. We have an equal part to play to determine how secure the club will be at those moments.
Being a TUFC fan can take you to the edge, it can make you despair, question your own sanity, it can ruin your week, many many weeks of a year. But that one moment where it all goes right, and it all feels so glorious, no matter how fleeting, against a tide of struggle and adversity, makes it all worthwhile and a million times better than watching your 'team' win the premiership on tv.
I wouldn't have it any other way. All these arguments everyone has on here, all these differing opinions, all these rants and criticisms, it is because we all care. And we always will.
