My overriding memory from last seasons game was that it was amazing how little ceremony there was for a clubs first EVER football league game.
It just shows what Fleetwood are all about. A club who have been bankrolled to the hilt, and their fans have no perspective. It felt like "just another game", and one where the home crowd expected to win after so many years of doing just that.
If you think about when we got promoted back to the FL, it was a big deal to us. I just didn't get that last season.
I suppose the other memories from last year are that I was very surprised to still find my car intact post-match, as I parked in one of the roughest streets I've seen for a while (beaten only by where I parked at the Don Valley Stadium 2 years ago - Jesus wept..........), and marvelling at how fat Fleetwood captain Steve McNulty was. Also fairly amusing was Nathan Craig took a shot in the warm up, missed the goal and smacked some lad full in the midriff, winding him. To be fair, NC got one on me a couple of weeks later, knocking my phone clean out of my hands from 30yds at Port Vale.
Oh, and the game was incredibly dull. Here's hoping to a better effort today - I'll be there!
