Noooo! Another icon of my good days goes away. When I was there it was open on Tuesdays *and* Wednesdays. Fun place. looked like crap when it was lit properly, but then that's why they had the disco lighting, i suppose.

I will be there on Saturday, I think it's probably the only away game I will be able to do, down and back on the train in one day. Leaving about 7.30am and getting back to Aberdeen at nearly midnight. Funny how the fixtures have worked out, but at least I can now say I have been to consecutive league away games.

I once walked to their old ground, just to say I had walked to an away game. Think it was about 3-5 miles from where I was living in town at the time. Their pie, chips and gravy was definitely the best food I have eaten at a football game.

Every town has it's fair share of civilised people who know where carrots come from i'd hope. =D

As the main matchday thread implies, Quorn (or even more so vegetables) may not be in high demand in Morecambe

They won an award for the best pies last year.

Been up there the last two seasons, not making it this year as can't make the longest trip of the season in consecutive away games (and the last one was not optional).

Good day out, but think it will be a test for us this time given we have won the last two there. Imagine they will be up for stopping that run in their first home game.

As mentioned I shall be posting threads for our away games so that you may post any unusual or memorable stories about Gulls games at Morecambe (in this instance) or any memories that you may have and wish to share with us about trips to particular grounds. (Morecambe in this instance - Christie Park and Globe Arena).

I hope you will all get involved and I am very interested to hear tales and stories aplenty.

I shall begin with a token effort in the hope that others will follow.

My first memory of Morecambe was going to the Globe Arena for the very first time in 2011, the Shrimps first season in their new home. I went with an ex-friend that day (don't ask) and we decided to drive the scenic route from Chesterfield up the A1 and across the Yorkshire Dales through Harrogate and Skipton. It took forever, the roads were flooded and we came back the normal way down the M6, M62, M1 in about half the time! My memories of the game were of a tremendous Billy Kee strike to put us 1 up with about 15 minutes left but they equalised then that little sh*t Mark Duffy tried conning the ref and he gave a penalty against Branno with minutes to go. Duffy then turned to the away section and proceeded to torment by throwing his arms up and goading us. We lost 2-1.

My second memory was of last season and our great 2-0 win there and it was gloriously sunny, I was going on holiday the next day after missing a day of it to go to the game and all the travelling Gulls were in good spirits.

That's it for me really, nothing to shout home about but 2 uneventful visits apart from the dramas you read about on the matchday thread!
