Simply, of all the players we have signed this summer he impresses in the most areas - A crucial position in the side that needed the right player, and he is at a good age to be experienced but still have room to improve and a re-sale value. He'll come straight into the side and be ready, but should also have a promising future.
Other players like Chappell and Cameron are exciting and have the potential to play at a higher level like Carayol, but there is no guarentee.
That's a prefect decent answer. I understand what you mean about the difficulty in answering such a question. I'm amazed none of the morons have been on giving it all the mouth before engaging brain. Amazed, but pleased.
For what it's worth, I concur. I feel he is the signing which represents best resale potential (he's most likely to be worth a fee to us, if not pound for pound the highest fee). He is also the biggest scalp. I think County rated him and world have kept him had they been able to give him the amount of pitch time he demanded.
I haven't seen enough of him to judge in terms of footballing ability, but I'm sure he's as good a footballer as Cameron or Chappel or even Harding.
All things considered, I make your assessment about right, even if he isn't the flashest, most eye-catching signing (which, I suspect, is how a Premier League fan would classify a 'best' addition).
