THAT Song...

Post by Fonda »

Hi all. Long time no speak. This is a flying visit, just long enough to have a moan before i go on my merry way again.

Not sure if this has been mentioned previously, apologies if so...If any of those 'with the drum' frequent this site, can i make a request on behalf of the other 99% of our support - can you stop singing THAT song? You know the one. na,na, na, na, na, na, na, na na...

Were any of you that continually make that raquet at Old Trafford? I can only imagine not, because after listening to Stevenage 'sing' it for 90 minutes, it surely can't hold anything but bad memories for anyone that was there.

Please stop it. It's generic, annoying nonsense. And it's associated with a very dark day. Ta everso.

Good season though eh? Lingy is doing the business, the double over the cornish, Buckle sacked. All good so far. Apart from THAT song. See you again...

Welcome back Fonda, long time no post.

That's got to be your longest rest on the sofa ever. ;-)

As for THAT song, I don't mind it, the memory of Old Trafford is fading. Not so though, the memory and the manner of the playoff defeat to Exeter 2008. :@

I like the way we've adopted that song, least we can keep it going longer than 30 seconds, unlike the usual give me a T... chant that gets repeated twice if we're lucky.

Keep going Yellow Army!

Was thinking the same thing!? :|

Is this the song? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jg6o3lX4aS4 If so it's called the "Dale Cavese" many foreign teams sing it but now many British sides sing it as well, including us! I don't really like the chant TBH, but against Argyle it sounded really good!

I quite like it. Admittedly, it doesn't seem to have any 'actual' words in as such, but i think its catchy.

Looked round on Monday and plenty of people were joining in with it - i.e people sat near the front and not with the 'singers' at the back.

Not a problem with it, think you might be on your own here mate.

I like it too, when enough join in like they did at Argyle.

Nice to see you back, Shane, even if it was for a moan :)

I quite like it too tbh!! Bit more upbeat than the regular chants and when you get a good number of people joining in the atmosphere has the potential to turn electric!! Shrewsbury away in the play-Off semi's last year was superb!!

Makes you wonder why the atmosphere is so often dull.

All songs sounded fantastic for 90 mins, drummer(s) excellent and the Plymouth fans were very impressed!

What the singing proved on Monday, is until such time as the Babbacombe End is made available to home supporters, is that the singers on the Popside should stay in the middle of it so it's heard in the extremes and encourages those standing in the extremes to join in.
