Good post GPGull.

Richard Hughes should dumped by Devon Live. The podcast is usually littered with gaffs from him and his mate.

No wonder DaveThomas doesn't take part anymore

The only decent podcast to listen to is Torquay Talk

I can only assume the club are playing down the significance of the game. The players have no stomach for a do or die battle. They also are obviously incapable of working out the points needed and the 'what ifs' themselves, as has been already been recently proven.

Any Churchill style speeches to them or the public would send them crying in a corner.

It's only been the fans who've shown any true passion, 700 to Bath!

Downsie has a go to phrase of 'disappointed' when we've been poor, show some passion man. Or it may be the case that they can't control their emotions as has been shown by Marshall and Duane.

And there’s more ….

“Win at Taunton, who have one game in hand over the Gulls, and Torquay will be watching closely as Taunton take on Weston-super-Mare on Thursday night. If Taunton lose that one, the Gulls will be safe.”

WRONG ! Win at Taunton and we ARE safe! I, for one, won’t be watching!
I think you're wrong.

Even if we win at Taunton, we'll be 5 points ahead with one game to play. They'll have two (potentially 6 points).

So if they win both of their remaining games (unlikely I know), and we lose on Saturday, then we will be relegated.

So Downes is also right, virtually safe.

Taunton play Hemel Hempstead on Saturday, so something has to give in our favour ...

If we beat Taunton we will have 50 points and better goal difference.
If Taunton beat us & Weston they will have 48.
Hemel have 49.
Whatever the result on Taunton v Hemel one will have less than 50 points.

A draw at Taunton & win over Havant will see us safe.

Defeat to Taunton and we need Taunton, Hemel or Eastbourne to drop points. It would be out of our hands.

Well here we are on what feels like the end of the world is about to happen as a Torquay united supporter, I just have the feeling are team tonight will be like a balloon deflating to a whimpering nothing, No fight No passion No care just nothing, (wheres my tablets gone) I in all my years have never watched or played in a a team that just does not care and that’s SAD. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

If we go Down can I suggest a way of making extra money for the club. We put the players in a set of stocks so we can throw wet sponges at them, after this season that will earn loads of money to last two seasons.

Nervous, unsure, many permutations but I think ultimately both sides will not want to lose and a draw may result

Sorry to be a pedant, oldpedant, but you haven’t factored in the fact that Taunton would have to beat both WSM AND Hemel Hempstead to overtake us, and as Hemel only have that game to play - they would be stuck on 49 and so couldn’t catch us on 50 points, and it would be they or potentially still Eastbourne, who would be relegated.

So no, WIN tonight and we ARE safe!
