FC Halifax Town v Torquay United Sat 13 August KO3pm
United travel to Halifax for their first away game without Ali Omar who is recovering from concussion.
Halifax just like United have lost a good number of their best players after an excellent season in 2021/22 and no doubt our boys will be pleased that Billy Waters has moved to Barrow with is old boss Pete Wild.
Town lost at Barnet 2 -0 on the opening day and I anticipate a close game. My prediction is a 1-1 draw.

Anyone know if Andrews and Jarvis are fit. Given Olaf has gone on loan I’m guessing they must be?

With Olaf going out on loan I’d assume a number of those doubtful will be fit enough to make the squad. Young lad from Ipswich supposedly signing too but don’t expect an announcement until the team sheets come out.
3-3
3-3
Jarvis is apparently nowhere near fitness.

According to the Ipswich town site its a lad called Tommy Hughes, guess what, he is another midfielder, we are certainly breeding them this season.

To be fair it says he is a winger - the Southend winger we signed last week isnt in the squad - guess he must be on his bike already

The squad is crying out for winger options. Good to see Hall Lapslie and Donnellan starting, I wonder if any will last the 90? I’d guess it’s a 4-3-3 with Hanson and Donnellan wider, with Hall and Lapslie likely to be replaced with the new wingers.
The exeter winger has been signed on a six month deal so I guess the other bloke must have gone, maybe he got offered something elsewhere

Phew! How tense was that!
Sounds like a MOM performance from Halstead, who would have predicted that a few weeks ago?

Fantastic 3 points but by all accounts we were battered all game. Obviously 4 points from the first 2 games is decent enough but our performances are going to have to improve.

Haven't lost or conceded a goal in two games - I'll take that kind of performance all season.
Yep not knocking the results but we’ve been fortunate. However, given that no team in the league has taken 6 points from their first 2 games give some idea of how tough this league is.MellowYellow wrote: ↑13 Aug 2022, 17:11 Haven't lost or conceded a goal in two games - I'll take that kind of performance all season.
