National League Play-Offs .......

Can someone with a degree in Football Logic explain the Play Off arrangements for our league? I see that yesterday Barnet, who finished ELEVENTH when the season ended, beat Yeovil. And Boring Wood beat Halifax a few days ago. Are these games played on a home and away basis, or is that it for Halifax and Yeovil?

Who else is in the Play Offs, and when are the games to be played? I've checked the fixtures for the coming week, and I couldn't see that any Nat League games were due to be played. I know we aren't involved of course, but if anyone can explain this mystery, it would be appreciated - thanks !

The playoffs are between the teams finishing 2nd to 7th. The teams finishing 4th to 7th have a mini playoff first with 4th playing 7th and 5th playing 6th. This is done on a single fixture basis with the teams finishing higher at home. So Yeovil played Barnet (who finished 7th due to the final league positions determined on a ‘points per game basis’ having only played 34 games Compared to most teams having played around 37) and Boreham Wood played Halifax.
The next round of games sees the teams finishing 2nd and 3rd playing at home to the 2 winners of the first round of games, therefore Harrogate now play Boreham Wood and Notts County play Barnet.
The 2 winners will then play in the final at a neutral venue! Hopefully that explains it?

They will play at Wembley for the NL. The NLS and NLN finals will take place at the home of the highest placed in the final table.

Thanks everyone, especially DWB. I now understand ..... I think! Sooo ...... the less games you've played, the more likely you were to get in the Play Offs. Just think - if Boreham Wood get to Wembley, their 300+ fans would have no trouble social distancing ! Come on Harrogate !!!!

....... and in the North and South play off finals, it is Boston v Altrincham and Weymouth v Dartford. It will be great if Weymouth win. That will be almost another local derby, along with Yeovil, next season ...... Come on, Weymouth !! :scarf:
