As for the fans’ votes, it was clear ever since Jude-Boyd made a lively debut in February’s trip to Maidstone that he would go on to be a firm favourite with the Yellow Army, however few could have predicted how quickly and smoothly he would make the transition from Under-23 football with Queens Park Rangers to his first taste of senior football with The Gulls. 17 appearances and 6 goals later – including the Club’s final strike of 2023/24 in Saturday-s 5-0 romp over Havant – saw AJB receive the deserved recognition for his efforts, with the player himself clearly overjoyed at receiving the YPOTS trophy. “I’m honoured to receive an award like this,” said Arkell “Honestly, I would never have expected this. It’s been the perfect loan, the fans and my teammates have been unbelievable.” 
Perhaps less of a surprise was the winner of the prestigious main award, with Gulls stalwart Moxey taking the shield of honour after another immaculate season in yellow. With his 2023/24 seeing the former Exeter City man increase his career record by another 47 appearances in all competitions – and the ultimately vital last-gasp winner in December’s 3-2 home win over Hemel Hempstead – the 38 year-old defender continues to roll back the years in astonishing fashion, with his latest campaign including his 700th playing appearance. Having made his senior debut for the Grecians back in 2003 v Accrington, Dean can now lay claim to the rarest of accolades – being regarding as a playing legend for both City and United. Upon being presented with his award, Moxey paid tribute to the fans that voted for him, and highlighted the impact they had on the side when the going got tough during the latter part of the season. “They’ve been massive for us,” said Dean. “It’s not the season we would have wanted, but the fans have played a massive part in helping us stay up, and we thank them very much.”
