Re: Next Season - Early Predictions..
Have to agree with Matt on that one, Northampton and Bradford are always talked about as top promotion contenders every year cos they have the biggest ground and the most money, and sign a plethora of players, but every year the squad is unbalanced, the manager doesn't know his best 11, they underpe...

Re: promotion 2012/13
Just realised this is very similar to the early predictions thread. Do we need both?

Re: promotion 2012/13
I'm inclined to agree about Southend, Rovers will probably also be a lot better this season than last, and of the relegated teams I expect Chesterfield and Wycombe will do well, and Oxford to be up there (at least playoffs). Rotherham will probably do like Crawley this season, start very strong, bos...

Re: Atieno gone
Yeah, I envisage we could find somebody better, either picked up on a free or on loan. Sounds like that someone will be Jarvis, but I'd quite like to see another striker on the books. ML isn't mincing his words with regards to player departures! Though if we've had the best of Tai I'm doubly glad we...

Re: Macklin on Transfer List
Another correct decision by ML in my opinion, Macklin needs to buck his ideas up and start fulfilling some potential or head on out the door, he can't kid himself different.

Re: Ling Tells It Like It Is
This thread and other talks of player contracts has got me thinking, how long is left on the manager's contract? If it's less than 2 years I'd be very keen to see him sign an extension as I can see him building something good at Plainmoor. The same could also be said of his coaching staff who also d...

Re: Looking ahead to next season
I'd agree with the OP with regards to keeping all of first team, ditching out of contract reserves, but would also be happy to see the youth players let go as they seem to have been around a while without making any sort of impact, would be just as well to look at some fresh blood, hopefully see a b...

Re: cheltenham town v torquay united - 13/5/12
I don't think it was bad as some are saying. Yes we were toothless in attack without Rene, gave away a bad goal from an individual mistake and forgot to defend for 5 mins at the start of second half, but I thought we created the better chances first half. If I'm honest I can't see us turning it arou...

Re: In hindsight, thankyou Southend?
I'm happy with Cheltenham, saw the game at their place and they didn't pose a lot of threat. With more to play for they'll likely go for it a bit more (or maybe bottle it to a greater extent), but with last season's play off experience hopefully we can see them off.

Re: Lets talk tactics
In another thread I've advocated bringing Jarvis in for Morris, in which case I'd want to see him play closer to Howe, though what we'd then do with Danny I don't know, though most of our width on Saturday came from the fullbacks anyway. However, I've just remembered that in our league match at Chel...

Re: JARVIS & ATIENO
Morris tries hard, is good in the air, and put in a decent cross or two on Saturday, but I'm not really sure what his role in the team is. He doesn't pose much attacking threat and I've never seen him run at a defender, but he doesn't really play a holding role either. I also thought some of his pas...

Re: Eunan to Swindon
As with Lingy's gentleman's agreement with (I think) Lathrope, what happens with Eunan is likely to depend on what league we're in next season - being a regular in league 1 might appeal more than going to a Championship club and being loaned out. The flip side of that is, a star turn at Wembley coul...

Re: lucky it didn't matter
I thought it was their keeper though my mate reckoned it was handball, but from the other end of the pitch neither of us really had any clue. To be honest I thought at least one of our players was near enough to have put it in anyway but failed to do so.
