Re: Meet up for Northampton?

Being from Milton Keynes (just up the road from Northampton) I can tell you there's no bars/pubs near the ground. Like said above, theres a Frankies and a cinema, thats practically it!!!

forevertufc wrote:Well this was a game of two halves, first half to me was negative from both sides, some good neat football however no end product, i do not know what Lingy says at half time he sure has the magic touch, second half, to me was men against boys with many chances created and a score which could of ended at 5 or 6-0.

What a great day, good win for the gulls, exeter getting beat, buckle taking a thrashing.

One final thought, Saah today ha a much much better game, his goal and performance should give him some confidence going forward. Its not always easy to settle into a new club and hopefully today is a sign it will come good for him.
Fully agree that its not easy to settle and hopefully Saah can now move onwards and upwards in future games!! If he does carry on and gets better and better, a lot of credit must also go to Lingy! He's chosen to stick with him and has come under some pressure from fans, etc to drop him but hasnt. We shall see!!!

Who to partner Atieno Saturday??.....

As per the OP, I think Ling has pretty much resigned to the fact that there will be now Howe available for Saturday!!

He's talked about various options but am just wondering what you lot reckon? Would you prefer to stick with the 2 up top or go 4-4-1-1 and have someone like Macklin or O'Kane supporting Atieno just behind him?

Personally I wouldnt mind seeing Macklin given a chance up top, and especially after hearing that he didnt have a bad game against Cheltenham in JPT!!

Thoughts???? :)

As for the atmosphere........... I know it helps if the team are playing well on the pitch, however I thought our fans were not up to the usual standard of an away game.

Totally agree with this!! Normally its pretty constant chanting but thought we were a bit flat on Saturday! Think the last game I remember going to when we were this quiet was Swindon in the JPT last year, but that was a nothing game!!

I hate booing as well so refrained from joining when they walked off at half time, don't agree with it and does nothing for the players. They already knew how gash they were playing!!.....

Re: Sunday morning!!

Great day out yesterday made even sweeter by the result haha!! Thought the fans were excellent as well, a few chants at Buckle, Zebs, Muzzy, etc but glad we kept the focus on our boys!!

When Manse came over to clap the fans at the end you could see how much the result meant to him, he looked over the moon!!!

Happy days and long may it continue!

Re: Taiwo Atieno

Hopefully will be a decent signing and the guy definitely has talent!! Similar to the Howe situation though as they've both had slightly wild careers so far, hopefully Torquay will be a good influential place they will want to settle, thus to concentrate on the football!!!

it does make me laugh (sorry annoy me) some of the posts on here.

martin rice is a pro footballer. all of us on here (as far as i know) arnt.

dave SG has played at a high level as a goalie and i have played at a decent level too, so we i think should know a little about goalkeeping.

think about it, goalie makes a mistake, thats it - its in the back of net. striker misses open goal, well, "it happens"

dont care what anyone else says or thinks, martin rice will get my support.
Totally agree with this!! I'll always give anyone that pulls on a yellow shirt my support, regardless of where they've come from, etc!!

Unfortunitely though, your always gunna get the supporters 'who think they can do better'!!!
