Taunton Town.

You'll have to explain this one to me. How does selling out all your tickets make a club tinpot?
Clubs like Liverpool and Man United, who sell out week after week, must feel really embarrassed being tinpot so frequently.

Braintree v Torquay Sat 17th Feb 2024

Game after game, week after week, month after month, failure after failure. Not since the dire days of Dave W*** have I felt so despondent. The managers signings, the managers picks, the managers tactics, the managers organisation. This is killing the club. What hold does Johnson have over the owner...

Braintree v Torquay Sat 17th Feb 2024

Chasing the game against 10 men. Naturally remove one of your two forwards.

Torquay United v Slough Town sat 10th

Torquay 2 Slough 0 Going, forward, the new boys Arkell and Booth both look strong. Add these two to players currently on the books, namely.......... Halstead Moxey McGavin Lapslie Stobbs Dawson Hall Jarvis In my opinion, those ten are all good enough to see us promoted. Add in one from the likes of...

First Pints On Me

The Union is still open if you like a traditional rough and ready place.
Frequented by a few TU followers before the game.

Worthing v Torquay United - Saturday 27th January 2024

Another dismal day for a Torquay follower. Listening to Martin Gritton comments during the game, when his thoughts are most instinctive, (his post match summary is more circumspect) he constantly referred to lack of organisation, tactical ineptitude, pointing out time and time again simple basic err...

Taunton Town.

How and why is a part time player with a job paying more money going to come to Torquay on a full time basis give up his job for a few months for. It won't happen. Get used to it in this league. Well 3 Taunton players have joined Yeovil since pre-season, so obviously it can happen. Two in the last ...

Re: Taunton Town.

I was at the recent Taunton/Yeovil game. Zac Bell was the most impressive Taunton player on the night. Looked rather like the sort of right back we had hoped Dylan Crowe would be. A similar stature to Crowe, Bell was comfortable on the ball, quick, sharp in the tackle and most importantly knew how t...

Torquay United v Dover Sat 20th

Gary is being totally unfair on Osman Foyo. He is a midfielder who has occasionally played at fullback. A 19 year old pushed into a lone forward role in his first senior games. Hardly giving the lad a chance. Another illustration of enlightened recruitment. Jarvis has been unavailable since late Oct...

Marshall left the pitch injured, so has to be a doubt.
I am hoping Lapslie going down twice in the final few minutes was time wasting tactics. Given Tom's injury record I doubt it.
Also the team has to survive a Johnson/Downes training session, which much more injury inducing than playing a match.

Torquay United v Tonbridge Angels, Sat 2nd Dec, 3pm

Rumour is Donellan wants out thats why he hasnt featured. Dont know whether thats correct. Rumour from where? A player wanting to leave is not a reason for him not to play, if he is part of your best eleven. His performances have been consistently better than half the team. So if he does "want...

New Kit New Sponsor !

How you view a kit is all about opinions. My opinion. Quite possibly the worst kit of all time. Being a traditionalist, what are those triangular stripes all about. Colour mix a mess. In general yuck. Having an away kit that is a little playful is just about tolerable. Mucking about with home kits i...
