Assistant manager?
Am I getting it wrong, or Do I remember that when Shawn Taylor stood in for Ling, he was utterly abysmal. Beats me why he is at Plainmoor at all and now Assistant Manager. Oh Dear.

Wrexham v Torquay 6/1/18
Just a word about the 2 new signings, having gone to the match yesterday. O'Sullivan looked useful, only time will tell if he is any better than what we already have. However, Fletcher was woeful - Easily pushed off the ball. But for a slight guy he should have been a nippy, alert worrier who might ...

Great athlete. He comprehensively outclassed everyone on the Teignmouth Grammar School football field, nutmegging me several times in the process, and he could keep going all day. So pleased he stepped into the Torquay Team and held his own for many years. A loyal servant of the club, and a nice guy...

Loyal Fan RIP. Bill.
Would you feel that a minutes' applause would be appropriate to remember Bill?
If so, in which minute of the match?
Thanks but no. Keep watching the game. Hopefully a win. May be there myself!

Loyal Fan RIP. Bill.
Last journey from Teignmouth to Torquay yesterday, for my Dad, William (Bill) Rowe, (no relation to directors) of Teignmouth/Shaldon, as relations accompanied him to the crem, and reminisced about all those journeys over many years by motorbike and car to Plainmoor. He passed away one day short of 9...

Cant understand how the name of Gary Owers has not come up before - and a very underwhelming one it is. Better than Ronnie Moore, eh? Just one idea, but I think Gowlings touchline animation has been an attempt to generate a Player/Assnt Manager role for himself. Maybe Not a bad idea as Herrera is no...

Coach up in flames.
Nowadays football clubs use the words "coach" and "manager" interchangeably.
I thought for a moment that our new manager had spontaneously combusted when GI told him he would be working for free on probation for 3 yrs !! :rules:

Love the Herald Express headline "Robbie Herrera throws his hat into the ring for the Torquay United job"
I'm beginning to think that we should give Robbie's hat a chance. Provided RH is not in it of course.
The Hat cant do any worse than 2 points out of 24

Agreed, crass unprofessionalism from Herrera to imply anyone can "have a go" at being Torquay Manager. What surprises me if that high quality applicants like Mickey Adams, Ronnie Moore, etc stuck their neck above the parapet. Did none of these experienced managers do their research on the ...

"As I read it, Geoff Harrop is making the decision and then presumably running off to Mr Osborne and saying "Hi Clarke - this is what Applicant A is demanding for his remuneration - can we afford it?". Clarke says "Hell, no". And so it goes on ...... until Chris Todd is app...

Nicholson sacked 17/08
I have to say that I would have given Nicho 3 or 4 more games. From the display I saw yesterday, this team is more than capable of top half finish. It seems that after 2 yrs Nicho has recruited OK and has learnt to manage a team in difficult circumstances. But here is the crunch. He should never hav...

Guiseley v Torquay United
By the way, the end of the match saw McGinty furiouly arguing with another Torquay player. He had to be restrained. But I did not see who he was arguing with. Please tell.....

Guiseley v Torquay United
Back from match - what a strange one. Their first goal should have been prevented, and the leaky defence was breached several more times in the first half, with Guisley hitting the post and crossbar more than once, and some Clarke saves. Yet after their goal we did up the tempo a bit, with some neat...

Stadium name
Surely, Toquay and the Plainmoor locality has a deep and long-standing with another name. You must know it! I still prefer Plainmoor, but if another name is to be chosen, particularly if we move, it has to be the name of the ground in the Babbacombe Model Village. Unless its changed since I went reg...

Nicho is making excellent progress towards a team who all have surnames with G. So far we have Gowling, mcGinty, Gosling, Gallifuoco will stay - shame to lose Gerring. "Give us a G ...................................
