New manager announced - Paul Wotton
Little anecdote about Neil Warnock - we were on holiday a couple of weeks ago and the place has a soccer pitch for the staff and they have a league between some of the different resorts. They’d recently upgraded to astroturf and they’d completed the work while Neil Warnock was staying there - appare...

New manager announced - Paul Wotton
I'm not sure why anyone would feel any negativity about what's already happening in such a short space of time. After the last several years of impending doom I'm feeling very positive about the future. Does anyone else feel the same? 100% - the club has survived and Warnock as Director of Football...

Very sad to see that Paul Holmes has passed away at the age of just 56.

Taunton Town v Torquay United Tues 16 April KO 19.45.
Well some immediate relief due to survival but really what a truly awful team this year, with utterly abysmal management.
I'm probably being unfair on some individuals, but collectively whether the club remains full time or part time, I wouldn't be sorry to see the entire squad leave and start again.

It would be extremely boring to go into the subject of tax relief/evasion. As there is more than one way to peel an orange let's have a look at the man himself Dawson who appears to have transferred shares in his firm’s parent company to Mrs Dawson after she moved to the Channel Islands tax haven i...

The fact that football enjoys an incredibly generous tax regime maybe a good reason. The UK asks very few questions about tax loss that can be offset by companies against their profits. What extremely generous tax regimes are these? How can other companies offset the losses of a football club again...

Wouldn't have thought it was TUST. For starters they haven't got the money to cover the bond to the League and show they can cover 12 months expenses. Secondly, the leaders of TUST can't keep their mouths shut despite signing confidentiality agreements. That will not sit well with the Administrator...

Yes absolutely - Osborne is by far the largest creditor but the cleaner the slate any new bidder can start with the better.Willowgull wrote: ↑05 Apr 2024, 18:08 Yes, very good point Exilegull. Obviously we don't know what debts the club has. But if a new bidder can come to an agreement I guess it is in their best interests?

Its likely it has gone into adminstration so an agreement can be reached with all creditors.Willowgull wrote: ↑05 Apr 2024, 17:33
This begs the question; are any of the bids suitable? Why wasn't Osborne able to come to agreement with any of the bidders?

Well, that didn't work really did it? How do you know? Perhaps it could have got even worse, sooner. Perhaps her presence there prevented money being siphoned out the club. Or perhaps indeed there was nothing practical that could be done as the club simply is not capable of being run solvently full...

Totally agree Brucie, I think part time will be incredibly difficult and it should be the absolute last option, but judging on everything in the public arena at the moment it seems to be the only option as there is no white knight out there prepared to inject the necessary cash to maintain a full-ti...

It’s academic Dave - if neither of the bidders can prove they have the funds to financially support a business plan that allows for a full-time squad it cannot happen. They need the cash available and committed now and as seems apparent neither of the bidders have that additional £500k+ available. N...

Mike Bateson existed in a different era when most of the Conference was part time and there wasn’t the professionalism that many of the smaller part time clubs have today. He still injected his own money, there was the prize money from being in the football league, transfer revenue as others have sa...

It would, of course, not be ideal. However, as per my earlier post, we need to shift our mindsets and realise that even in the best case now, some significant sacrifices are going to be required, as a means to an ultimate end. We will have to take steps back to lay the foundations to step forward a...
