The World Cup and TUFC
Paul Balsom, former TUFC youth player who still takes a close interest in our club, is Performance Manager for Sweden. At last a genuine link to the World Cup. I am strangely optimistic about England getting to the semis on the basis they play like a team rather than individuals like France. Then ag...

2018 World Cup Thread
Is there any vague link between Torquay United and one of the competing nations at the World Cup? A loan player, someone behind the scenes, maybe a cousin of a former player or a colleague who knows a friend who prints the panini stickers etc. In the past we have shared the dream with the late, grea...

Bromley Boys at Plainmoor - 30th May
The movie planned to be shown at Plainmoor has been cancelled. " UPDATE | This screening has been postponed. A new date and time will be announced in due course. " This had some positive advertising as the film is about a non-league football team. I assume ticket sales were low as 10 for a...

As a kid I remember him being one of our top players. His daughter was also one of the best players at school.

The Lion King at Plainmoor
On May 5th the Lion King was shown at Plainmoor on a big screen. Did anyone go? I assume it was a commercial disaster for the film promoters 'Slip N Slide Events' and TUFC as the tickets: £14 Standard / £8 Under 16, meant it was rather expensive considering you can buy the DVD cheaply. A good idea t...

Player Search - Who Will Turn Up?
Guessing the motives of someone who killed 2 kids while drinking and driving is poor form. There was a court case and none of it is positive. Basically, he went to a wedding and drove home later with too much alcohol in his system. We already have a keeper signed on for next season and have also mad...

Player Search - Who Will Turn Up?
The best signing this season why not really a signing at all . Despite Brucie's line in praise of GO " Healey (by the way an excellent signing by Owers) " The truth is stranger than fiction as recalled on the Herald Express podcast. Neil Warnock phoned up GO and offered him the player out ...

Another excellent podcast. Keep up the good work next season.
Also, try to get a sponsor next year...I suggest Boots and Laces (new ownership) but surely Cowlick's Creamery are already handing over money considering the number of times you mentioned them.

New signing Rhys Healey
Is this the 41st or 42nd player that United will use? A top player apparently and Neil Warnock obviously has a soft spot for one of his old clubs. It can only be a good thing even at this late stage.

Another cheery and enthusiastic podcast which I would highly recommend. However, after last week's clanger when you said that Paul Cox was Barrow's manager, I was surprised to hear your comment that you knew nothing about Maidenhead's manager, Alan Devonshire. Is that the former England internationa...

3-0 victory. A bit worried about Grant Holt at corners but all should be fine.

GILBERT's performances.
Very sorry to hear Gilbert as we know him has retired. He seemed fed up of the media department needing approval of photos etc. It does seem to be too much red tape for a Gull to cope with. However, they are probably not being too annoying on purpose because nowadays schools also have to jump throug...

You can watch the Reid goal on YOUTUBE and is onside so no debate there. The ' linesperson' put up the flag early for Keating. A simple error nothing more or less. However, what was interesting to me is that the the United players as a group did not complain or put their hands up in anger. Therefore...
